Our Prices
We base prices on the combination of the following factors: Pedigree, Personality, Physical Attributes, Cost of Feed and Vet, Man-Hours Spent - Taming and Training, paid at California Minimum Wage Rate.
Good Quality Hay - $20 per bale - 15 flakes - 90lb., = $245/goat/year
Dairy Goat/Pregnancy Feed - $15 per 50lb. bag = $147/goat/8 m. pregnancy & nursing
Minerals, Deworming, Testing = $50/goat/year
Total Base Cost = $442/goat/year
Extras - Fluctuating Cost: Vet?, Stud/Breeding Fee?, Purchase Price of Doe, Registration Fees, Man-hours feeding, cleaning, watering, grooming, training??? - These can vary per goat, and it greatly depends on the use and purpose of the Doe, Buck, or Wether.
Minimum Man-Hours = 20 min/goat/day x $10.50/hr. = $1,277.5/goat/year
It's a good thing, that ours is a labor of LOVE, so people can still afford goats :)
